Sharing Scientific Posters

 

It was trade show season and we at AZo had spent numerous hours preparing the booth, promoting our presence at the trade show (ELRIG Drug Discovery), training the booth staff, honing our offering and practicing our sales pitch for any marketers that would take the time to visit our booth over the next couple of days.

We were fortunate enough to be placed opposite hundreds of academics who personified countless hours of study and research which had preceded their presence at the show to display and talk about their work, conveniently condensed to the form of an A0 poster.

“What do you reckon happens to those posters after the show?” My colleague said to me.

We turned to one of the academics presenting a poster and asked what a good return would be, he said a few conversations. We asked if we could go away and repurpose and optimize the poster for an online audience, he agreed and a week later we had taken this:

Having repurposed and optimized the poster for an online audience, it was popping up in Google Searches and within 12 months had an additional 500+ views with dozens of downloads from professors and researchers, not just from the UK and Europe, but from all around the globe.
